Pull applications burn battery. Example, an app that pulls information every 5 minutes can take up to 10% of battery. We are pulling the information with our apps to get fresh content, but obviously there’s a better solution.
In this video, Google developer demonstrates Android cloud-to-device messaging. Google decide to give this technology for free, even some API’s.
